Secure By Design was founded by Daniel Haney to bring together decades of cyber security experience from world-class experts, executives and strategic advisors. Dan was raised on a Virginia farm (an hour from DC) with a Federal service mindset. His father had a distinguished USAF career, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Lt. Col. Haney was USNA ’58, a Vietnam fighter pilot (A1E Skyraiders). Dan’s mom, a retired schoolteacher (special needs focus) and a late uncle who retired from a long career at the Agency, all shared this same service mindset.

Secure By Design takes this focus and embraces it on IT solutions in a turbulent time. We focus on the present and future of cyber security evolution and the innovative tools of that modern security architecture. With backgrounds and expertise from the Census Decennial 2020 SOC, OPM Security Upgrade (post-breach-2014), DOE National Labs, and many other Federal agencies. We also focus on compliance and regulation best practices, as well as emerging threats and the impact on the iot device market.

We go further and then provide a SME layer of Business Development and Capture expertise/guidance to help our clients and partners win more Federal and Commercial Enterprise cyber contracts. We are deeply involved in community service, outreach and using our gifts and talents to help the needs of others.
